Purpose
The OptumCare Ultrasound Training Facility project will help students to be active participants in an inter-professional educational environment and provide a dedicated area where school administration can offer a curriculum based comprehensive ultrasound training to the students comparable to provider point-of-care situations. With the centralization of the space, multiple programs will have the opportunity to benefit from the access to ultrasound equipment and incorporate high-quality ultrasound training into curriculum to enhance medical education.
Scope of Project
The Southwest Medical Associates – OptumCare Ultrasound Training Facility project includes the renovation of 477 sq. ft. of existing space located in the Michael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation with a project completion date within 12 months of receipt of the gift to Touro Nevada.
Description
The OptumCare Ultrasound Training Facility project will require architectural and engineering design services as well as construction performance to produce a 477 square foot space. The renovation work will include the demolition of an existing hallway and storage closet to create a dedicated training room within the Michael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation. The training facility will be equipped with existing furniture to be relocated to the new space, procured ultrasound equipment, and donor signage.
